Problem:

This works at the command prompt:

: SQL SELECT fldname FROM WHATEVER WHERE fldname=A"



This works at the SQL window:

SELECT fldname FROM WHATEVER WHERE fldname=A"



This DOES NOT work in a program:

EXEC SQL

  SELECT fldname FROM WHATEVER WHERE fldname=A"

END EXEC

*** I get the same error that everyone else is getting which is SQL-302 -- "The file on SQL_OBJ is not available."



Am I missing a file or something?  I am a novice in AREV and I recently had to setup SQL capabilities.  I added the TRANSACT volume and everything seems to run fine except when I put it in a program.



Any assistance is appreciated.

Yes, the SQL_OBJ file does exist.  Thank you for letting me know the location. I had a heck of time trying to find it.



Secondly, you are right, the EXEC SQL statement is incorrect but I copied/pasted it for ease of writing my message.  It is correct in my code.



That only leaves memory.  I saw your other post so I will look into those options.

Expanded is available.

I followed the PIF instructions that are on this website.

And, I even closed Win98...rebooted...and booted to a DOS session using F8.

I "remmed"-out everything in ConFIG and AutoExec so that only EMM386 was running.



I typed C:]MEM at the prompt and it said that I had 621K available in conventional with another 4Mb in expanded.



Yet, when I run AREV /X/4096 the most memory that I have seen available is 272000K.

EM Used says 507000K

EM Allocated=4Mb



If you think of anything else please let me know. Thanks for the help.
