I have a TSR that allows a server running RevG2 and AREV to become a workstation.  It basically lies to the Int21 calls - returning network status for local drives.  This allows for LOCKs to function on the server/workstation as well as other workstations.  There are some caveats but I have been running it on a 5 station network for over a year with no apparent problems.  What problems I do have are more  code related rather than anything I can blame on this configuration.  I have given this TSR to others (6 or so) that have reported positive results.



I am not overly enamored with the Win95 peer-to-peer network.  Speed hasa not been a problem but I have had a sufficient number of unexplained network freeze-ups that are beginning to bug me.  My other problem has been in capturing DOS print jobs to HP inkjet printers - the cheap ones you get at Costco.  They just stop half way thru printing, if they start at all.   I don't know why.  Another problem is PDISK:  if you change your printer port, you need to PDISK  to a text file and PCPERFORM TYPE the file to a non-PRN printer port (e.g. ] LPT2).  For some reason, PDISK doesn't quite work the way you'd expect  in Win95.



It would be better if you can dedicate a server.  If it needs to be a workstation, email me directly and I'll send the TSR to you to try.
