I know it is unsupported, but what are the problems and how serious are they on a small (2-3 station) network? Thanks Greg Worrel ---- === At 09 OCT 1998 06:47AM Chris Vaughan wrote: === No worries mate ! Just make sure you have tha right networks driver and that the file attributes are set up to spec. We have lots of clients running RevG apps on all levells of NT and Novell servers from all varieties of Windows workstations. ---- === At 12 OCT 1998 01:57PM Aaron Kaplan wrote: === Well, officially, RevG's not supported on anything over DOS 3.31 or whatever was the last before 4. But people are using it and reporting sucesses. On Novell, it should run as usual. Just besure to use the Advanced Netware driver, not the Novell Network. For everything else, use DOS 3.1. On peer-peers, you must have a server, so all stations are mapped to the same drive. Some versions of LanTastic let you map your local drive as network drive. If you can do that, that's fine. For MS nets (Win95/8) Charles Schmidling (can never spell his last name) has a TSR that traps local locking. I've recommended it to people before, and no one's complained, but I've never used it, so all I can give you is word of mouth. You might need MEMFIX.EXE for the RevG sessions. akaplan@sprezzatura.com Sprezzatura, Inc. World Leaders in all things RevSoft ---- === At 13 OCT 1998 06:09PM Greg Worrel wrote: === Thanks for the response Aaron. I am aware of memfix although the need for it seems to be only on some older pcs. I don't remember running into the problem recently. It is good to know that my application can be run on 95 workstations. I have not been actively selling the G2b application, but I have started losing support money from customers who are moving to windows applications. Not being able to run Windows 95/98 just encourages people to jump ship. Greg Worrel ---- === At 13 OCT 1998 06:12PM Greg Worrel wrote: === Thanks for the encouragement. See my response to Aaron.
