GFE after REMAKETABLE
I am trying some experiments on a test system to improve access to our AREV 3.12 hashed files. The test file in question first has VERIFYLH (F) run, which checks out ok and recommends a framesize of 2048. The file statistics are as follows:-
Size .LK=96,631 Kb
Size .OV=338,957 Kb
Frame=1024
Modulo=96,631
Av rows per group=3.08
Av row length=1272.17
Total rows=297,706
Dict rows (from LIST_DICT)=7
I then rebuilt the table as follows:-
REMAKETABLE DATA 297706 1273 7 2048 50
Resetting the threshold and the framesize however the file then has a GFE in the first group. Am I doing something wrong here?
Many Thanks for any help.
Brian

Looking at the file with dumplh gives the following message:-
Header for group 1 has been corrupted. No framesize or modulo can be read. It then offers to fix it, which I haven't yet tried.
