We have a client who has been running ARev1 on a network for many years. Recently they upgraded terminals to Win98.
Now the terminals attempt to load:
\arev\arev ,
and hangs. Going back to Win95 works.
Any suggestions.

Try it with a copy of your system and use the byte
range driver to begin with.
Check that you are using the release 2 of Win 98.
Also, check that you have no residual pifs, and that
your Win 98 shortcuts and memory settings are set OK
Try Start-Run-c:\command.com
and then run AREV.EXE from the DOS prompt - see if
this works.
Try without then with expanded memory set.

Check the config.sys and make sure himem.sys and emm386.exe are being loaded on the Win98 machines. Win98 either omits or removes these entries depending on how it was installed.
As I recall expanded memory support wasn't added until v1.12 or 1.13. If you are using any version earlier than these then don't bother with emm386.exe. I'd urge you to upgrade to v1.16 however.
You need a minimum of v2.03 in order to use the linearhash NLM or NT Service, which is recommended for a multiuser environment with Win9x/NT/2000 workstations.
