The lady here in charge of donations needed a special report created for 1998. I have created her report and it is saved in the library. However, she would like to have it under her money/gift reports menu. Anyone out there know how to do this? I have only been acquainted with AREV for two weeks. Thanks! ---- === At 24 DEC 1997 07:11PM Irv Brenner wrote: === Penny, I'm assuming you're new to this game, so here's a step-by-step method that should work. To include your library report in a menu: 1) Get the command that generates your report. From the Command line (by pressing ), type: EDIT REPORTS RLIST*reportname Line#17 of the edit screen contains the command. Move the cursor to that line and press to cut it to the clipboard. 2) Get to the Application/Define/Menu Make Menu screen and use the Table Name MENUS. With the cursor in the Menu Names column, press to get a list of menus and pick the one you want. 3) Add the new Selection and Description. Press for help if you haven't done this before. 4)The Code value is 'E'. 5) With the cursor in the Command column, press to paste the command. 6) Press to save the changes. ---- === At 27 DEC 1997 08:06PM Kevin at KPW wrote: === Method 1: Rather than entering the whole command in the menu it is more appropriate to create a new command that includes the copied report details. You would then enter the command in the menu. This assumes that you have access to the F5 Command key in your application. To create a new command simply use the F5 function key to create a command window then type EDIT VOC 'reportname' and enter. The top line of the command needs to be TCL then enter to the second line. Ctrl-F4 will bring the copied report command into the screen. Save this with F9 then escape. In your menu still use E in the code and type the 'reportname' as the command. Method 2: First execute the report from the Library then escape out of the report writer. Use the F5 function key to display the Command Window. Next use Shift-F1 to display a simple command creation screen. Use F2 Search and you will see the report on the top line - select it then F9 to bring it into the window. Enter down to the next field and give it a name. Save this with F9 and it is an executable command that you may then add to any menu as before. Hope these methods help.
