We use the options: arev , /s /x /m4096 We have tried: F5 WHO to view the available memory This ranges from 110K to 490K. Under ARev1 we usually had about 250K. It also shows that Version C on Win95 is not using extended memory, while Version A and Version B of Win95 work OK. It is probable that NT Workstations have the same problem. Anyone have suggestions on how to access more memory? ---- === At 14 FEB 2000 03:01AM cputnam wrote: === Make sure that HIMEM is not disabling expanded memory. ---- === At 14 FEB 2000 06:11AM Warren wrote: === Doesn't have to be loaded EMM386 be loaded also? ---- === At 14 FEB 2000 10:46AM Stephen S. In Win98 for example: DEVICE=C:\HIMEM.SYS DEVICE=C:\EMM386.EXE Reboot and then it should be enabled for use. -Stephen ---- === At 15 FEB 2000 11:57PM Kelly wrote: === Thanks, That worked. Expanded memory is really only used by DOS applications (it was originally designed for large DOS based spreadsheets such as Lotus 123 hence LIM specification Lotus-Intel-Microsoft) so I guess the suppliers assume we will all be using Windows apps.
