I have an ongoing problem with my AREV database that I have yet to solve... phnntom GFE's.
The problem seems to be caused by the REVELATION.NLM. I've searched through the KnowledgeBase and have found simular occurances. But, I have yet to find a solution for my problem.
Here's what happens...
Users will be running fine for days or weeks at a time. All of a sudden, we will experience one of these 'phantom' GFE's. As far as I can tell, this has been going on since we started using AREV 3.12.
We usually re-boot the server and it goes away.
This sort of problem really puts a wrench in the works, especially when we run end-of-day and the error pops up.
Can anyone help??

Normally phantom GFEs are caching related. Have you ensured that write behind caching is disabled on the workstations per the usual setup instructions?

A client had phantom gfe's for months.
I reviewed problem for months.
The only conclusion was that it was bad memory.
Novell server was upgraded from clone to big IBM and no more GFEs.
I firmly believe that it was faulty memory.
I hope this helps.
