I need help. We are getting a message tha says "The Index Record Search.Fields.Xref**02827 is Missing the Indexed Field Search.Fields.Xref in the file Cases should be rebuilt". When I try to rebuild the index I get a message saying "Another workstation is currently updating indexes", but all other machines are out of AREV.
We have a dedicated machine set to Update Indexes. When this machine is logged in nobody can work on the system. The Users get a message that says "Waiting for Index Search.Fields.Xref to be Available". When the dedicated indexing machine is logged out users can use the system but can't query new records. When we try to Query 02827 the system locks up. Does anyone have any suggestions?.........

You're going to have to rebuild that index on the indexer machine. After that, everything should be OK for the time being.

If you continue to get the error message when all other machines are out of ARev, I suggest you re-start the server. I have seen cases like this where the server holds the lock even if the workstation that caused it is logged off.
I think your best bet is to remove this index and re-install it, rather than rebuild it.
