==== FS1105 Error (Networking Products) ====

Hi All,
I posted the following message in the Works Subscribers section last week and didn't receive any responses, so I thought I would try it here...
I encountered an error that I had never seen before today when I plugged my Laptop (running XP Professional) into a client's network for the first time and tried to run OI (or Arev). The error I received in OI was:
All Networks Driver 2.0.0.2
Unable to access Linear Hash Files
Error=FS1105
Group=4010
In Arev I received:
All Networks Driver 2.1.0.0
Unable to access Linear Hash Files
Error=FS1105
Group=4010
Unable to open boot media map
All other workstations are working properly, so I figure that the problem is related to either my Laptop or my user profile on their network, which, by the way, is Windows 2000 Server.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gray Cunningham

Gray,
Are you trying to run OI/Arev with the same Shortcut properties as the other workstations?

Yes. The only thing that is different is that the regular users sign in to the domain and I only map (net use) the drives and printers that I need. I am guessing that maybe this is where my problem lies, but I can't figure out what else I might need mapped.

Gray,
This error is an internal error that I have never seen encountered before and I am not sure why you are bumping into it. Create a file called LHSRVC.LOG in the same directory that LHSRVC.EXE resides, restart the service, and then create the error condition. All requests and errors will be logged to this file. Post here what the contents of the log file are and we'll see if that provides any clues.

How are you mapping?
If you have a local name on the workstation and the same domain name, you could be getting cross-rights.
When you map the drive, do a log in as another user, and map using your domain name and password.
Domain names are in the form DOMAIN\USER

Thanks Pat. I will be returning to that client's site early next week and I'll give that a try.

Sprezz,
I run a batch file to handle the mapping and I am prompted for my user name and password when the first "net use" command is executed. I run a similar batch file on another client's network and it works fine, which is why I am so puzzled. The batch file contains the following:
------------------------------
Net Use K: \\ltcmain\arev
Net Use R: \\ltcmain\revsoft
Net Use Lpt1 \\ltcmain\LexM410
------------------------------
I definately don't have a local name that looks like that.

Do you have AV software on your machine that doesn't exclude OVs from files to scan?

I recently upgraded my AV software and I can't find a spot where I can specify files to be excluded...I have sent a request to the Tech Support people. The next time I am at my client's I will have heard back from Tech Support (I hope!) and I will either exclude the .OV files or temporarily disable the AV program and see if it makes a difference.

Pat,
I finally made it to the Customer's site and here are the contents of the lhsrvc.log file after a failed attempt:

The "GetSession" call failed, returning RCL error number 4010. ???.

0:Disconnect...done.
Thanks,
