After that the message stored in ping.doc is evaluated and displayed in a list. a) Is it possible to load the result from PING directly into a variable, instead of passing through the DOS file write/read each time? b) Is RBasic capable of pinging directly ??? This lets you write C routines, compile them, and call them from your R/Basic routines. C has network libraries, so you could execute a ping, take the information, load it into a variable, and then pass it back to your R/Basic routine. msorrel@greyhound.com [[https://www.revelation.com/revweb/oecgi4p.php/O4W_HANDOFF?DESTN=O4W_RUN_FORM&INQID=NONWORKS_READ&SUMMARY=1&KEY=99A89401FEDCA3D485256983004DC3BA|View this thread on the forum...]]
