Software is located on NT4 server, but behaves the same if copied to the local (Win 98) PC.  No NT service running on the server.  OENGINE (when run alone) reports "Fatal Engine Error.  ENG0805.  LH.DLL.  LH".  This made me suspect the wrong network driver, but I can't run NETDRV to change it.

I can't say I've heard of these multiple DOS windows when runnning OpenInsight.  However, if you'd like to get into the NETDRV.EXE, or OpenInsight, OINSIGHT.EXE and NETDRV.EXE use LH.DLL.  So, if you rename this file to LH.OLD and rename LHIPX.DLL (the IPX driver) to LH.DLL, you should be able to at least get in.  



It seems your original LH.DLL is either corrupted or missing.

And here we come full circle (almost).  Our client with Sophos problems is not the same as this client.



I've tried Stephen's suggestion of copying LHIPX.DLL to LH.DLL to see if this gains access at least to OENGINE, but it's still failing in a quite spectacular way (lots of DOS Command boxes) and OENGINE still gives an ENG0805 error.



Next step is to get them to FTP us the OINSIGHT folder, so we can try to reproduce the error locally.
