Well, just had some very weird and interesting things happen on our site. We are looking at implementing some Oracle databases and so installed Oracle 8i for Netware on the server as shipped by Novell. As soon as the installation was finished, AREV blew up in our faces, with the following error messsage:- Linear Hash IPX Driver - REVMEDIA Open Error: FS477 REVPARAM file specifies server only access mode. Unable to open boot media map. REVPARAM is installed with ServerOnly=1. When we removed REVPARAM we started to get an error message Unable to attach the "UBS.VOL" location. Can anyone shed any light on what this error message means as I cannot find any information about it anywhere. So, we deleted Oracle and still no joy. Shutdown the server and re-started still no joy. Removed the Oracle, Orahome, and WebDB folders and files from the server. Removed the two search paths from the AUTOEXEC.NCF and still no joy. Re-started the server again still no joy. Ran LHSTOP, and then LHSTART, still no joy. Ran LHSTOP, and then LHSTART, this time it worked. Has been back up for about an hour now, so hopefully it will stay up permanently. Can anyone shed any light as to what the whole problem is? Has anyone else had problems installing Oracle, with AREV, and if so, how did you fix them? Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
