If you are new to Arev I suggest you play with this section first. Alternatively you can code something like: Perform "PDisk AsciiFilename" loop Read each row of the table convert @fm to , in the row convert @vm to ?whatever in the row Print the row repeat Perform "PDisk Prn" I hope this helps Claude ---- === At 12 JAN 2000 04:38PM Victor Engel wrote: === The *.lk and *.ov files work together. In fact, the extension "ov" is short for "overflow", namely data that overflowed from the lk file. What you need to do is not to worry about the DOS filenames at all. Use the tools available in the application. For example, there are export utilities for Lotus 123, Dbase, and ASCII formats. You can also direct printer output to a file using the PDISK command. ---- === At 12 JAN 2000 04:39PM M. Horton wrote: === thx for the suggestion Claude. As a "hands-on" programmer, i'd really like to learn AREV, but i do not have the AREV development environment available to me....All i have are some .ov and .lk files which were created by an application which was built using AREV.....i hope this explains why i don't have my nose buried in an AREV programmers guide....if i could, i would. I suggest this... Find someone that has the development version of AREV. Make copies of these files and let them ASCII export them. You will definately save lots of money and time, paying another person to do it for ya. I strongly suggest you not attempt this on your own. "Linear hashed" files are very very complicated. Without the development version of AREV it will be very very very difficult. These REV00000.LK and REV00000.OV data files also come with dictionary files too. the dictionary files hold the layout of the data file along with the conversion codes. They might be very useful!!! I find it very easy to export ASCII files. So I am sure you can find someone to get the job done for you. ---- === At 21 JAN 2000 06:18AM Peter Gorski - Polmax Poland wrote: === I HAVE FULL VERSION OF 2.12 ADV REV BUT DICTIONARY IMPORT.EXPORT FILE IS MISSING CAN SOMEBODY SEND THIS FILE TO ME VIA E-MAIL polmax@polmax.com.pl ITS VERY URGENT ---- === At 07 MAR 2000 09:54PM Chris Leenhouts wrote: === There is a new utility called xPort at http://exorsys.com/revelation.htm which resolves all the technical and conceptual problems asssociated with Revelation database exports.
