Would I be correct in thinking this means that the NT1.5 Allnetworks driver/service is not running correctly on the Network or is there something else I should consider? We have a copy of the application running (stumbling) at the moment, and we are trying to rebuild a new one to replace the stumbling one in parallel. Would the running one stop the new one from using the NT service? We have NT Servers (that used to be Novell so some of that lingers a bit) NT Workstation Clients on the PCs. Arev 3.12. Any thoughts considered (I have read all the stuff that comes up when you type FS1019 into the search engine for Arev and for networking). NPP) in order to run the application without this error. -Stephen ---- === At 17 JAN 2000 09:16AM Rob Misek wrote: === Scott-- Would the running one stop the new one from using the NT service? You can run an unlimited number of Arev or OI apps on one server with just one NT Service. With regard to the FS1019 error that you are encountering, try adding the SYSTEM user with FULL CONTROL to all of the Arev directories. The SYSTEM user should have a computer chip icon. I suspect that if I make the network guys turn on the LH service then the live application will stop until I get the revparam files into all the appropriate directories for the live system. The LH2.ovl file is in the directory containing arev.exe but rtp57a.lh2 is only on the install diskette. I don't know if this makes a difference. I will try to find out now if the Linear Hash service is actually started. Scott ---- === At 17 JAN 2000 07:05PM Scott, LMS wrote: === Hi all This makes things really weird. The linear Hash service is started and running according to the network people. (I wish I could see it) The live arev application is running ok (sorta) and it has NO revparam files at all. The new application, when the revparams are out, it runs when the revparams are in, it gets the following message: - All networks driver 1.5.0.0 Unable to access linear hash files error FS1019 Unable to open boot media map - All I can think of is that somewhere the application is using a directory/folder which I have not put a revparam file. How do I find out which directories it is using: All the directories that show in the location when you do a listvolumes command have the revparam file. The arev dir containing arev.exe has a revparam file, all the places with .lk that I can find have revparam file. What did I miss? I think we are going to be running the new system without the revparam files too. When you say "apply the system user to the directories" This is a phrase that makes no sense to me at all. Do you mean the NT "Administrator" user - have full control or the NT user ids that we all use to log on when we use the application or the user that goes with the application? (Hmm will have a look at this one) ie the user that you set up with arev? But how do you give it access/control to the directories? It isn't an NT user id. This is the only place in NT that this user appears. This is the system user Rob is talking about.
