Which method is best ???[/i] IMHO, I'd go with the former but control everything yourself rather than rely on relational indexing. I've designed an application that deals with many-to-many relationships and the best method that I found was to make sure that the record is equiped to store the keys of related to and related from data and that any process that could modify these relationships would update the necessary fields. Perhaps the best "in-house" analogy would be the repository itself in how it maintains all entities' relationships with each other.
