I wrote some routines when OI for Workgroups first came out using OpenNote, CloseNote for accessing Notes databases, which used to work fine.
I tried running some of these routines today after quite a time gap and several upgrades and got the message:
"Function OI_LINEARSEARCH does not exist in dynamic link library OI2NOTES"
Any idea why and what I can do?

QuickView on both the version 3 and version 4 DLL from OI3.7 report the function is indeed there. So, it seems like you might not have the DLL actually loaded. Check and make sure you have a OI2NOTES.DLL in REVBOOT and that notes is properly in the path.

Aaron,
Thnks fr yr advice.
DLL is in place, but problem could have something to do with OI not seeing Notes. In Tools menu, the Lotus Notes & Lotus Notes Registration are both greyed out.
Notes directory is in path statement.
I am runnning OInsight 3.61, WIN98 & Notes 5.0, although I also have an NT 4.0 workstation running Notes 4.5 and OI3.61 which does exactly the same and also has the Notes selections greyed out.

Aaron,
Have now sussed it. I was using 32 bit Notes client.
Followed the instructions in the Knowledge Base to access 16 bit dlls in the path and is now connecting to Notes & running the Notes commands.
Thanks and rgds

Since OI is a 16 bit product, you need to use 16 bit notes. I'll wager you've installed the 32bit version.
There are a couple of things you can do.
One is install the 16bit version somewhere and point to that. Since it all goes through the same points based on user name, all you need to do is run 16bit Notes once to set it up. After that, you don't have to use it.
The other option is to copy all the _xxx.dll programs from the 16bit to the 32 bit. We (I) used to do that in support, and it seemed to work OK, but I never really pushed the Notes interface to the limits, so I don't know where the 16 bit functionality didn't take in the copy.
