IXLOOKUP event

Description

Looks up index.

Syntax

bforward = IXLOOKUP(ctrlentID, ctrlclassID, indexedtable, searchcolumns, displaycolumns, selmode)

Parameters

IXLOOKUP accepts arguments for the following parameters.

ParameterDescription
ctrlentIDHas the format WindowName.ControlName, where WindowName is the identifier of the window that contains the affected control, and ControlName is the identifier of the control. Notice that a period separates the two values.
ctrlclassIDThe type of control that recognizes the event. The window control is the only valid entry.
indexedtableThe table containing Btree index(es).
searchcolumnsThe indexed columns to search delimited by @FM.
displaycolumnsThe columns to display in the resultant popup, delimited by @FM.
selmodeThe selection mode delimited by @FM.

Value - Description
Field 1 - MULTI or SINGLE. If null, then SINGLE.
Field 2 - Control to return popup result to. If null, then whatever control is specified. The default is QBFLIST.
Field 3 - Control property to set. Generally TEXT.

Returns

True or false. If false, the program execution returns to the calling procedure. If true, the event processing goes to the next level.
