I am trying to export several AREV tables to .dbf files. I start out by creating a location to where the tables are located, then I go and try to attach the tables. When I use the Location ] List function to view which tables are at the location, I see all of the files fine. But when I go to attach the tables, I select the proper location and I can't see any of the tables. The files belong to the ARCHIVE program. when I run the ARCHIVE program I can see and attach the tables, but when I go to export them, none are on the list! Any help would be appreciated.
What do you mean by "attach"ing the files? An ARev ATTACH command or a DBase USE command? ATTACH won't work on DBase files unless you have the sample DBASE Environmental Bond installed. Locate the appropriate utility discs and login to INSTALL and add the Bond. You may have to reapply any system updates afterwards. Then you have to set a 'bond' volume and define a dictionary for the files.
I mean that I am using the ATTACH command to attach AREV tables.
Most likely they are bound to a different account or application then the one your are logging in as.
Do a LISTMEDIA volumename which should show the account/application the files are bound to. If they are different then what shows in your WHO command they have to be changed or you need to login to the matching account.
