I believe it possible to use the TELNET server (free with NT2000) to remotely control an AREV session on the NT2000 server say over VPN connection.
I am running an NT2000 server with NT service pack 1.5 and AREV 3.12
I can map a network drive on the NT server and run an AREV session on the server as if it was a network work station on the network.
I can log onto the server via hyperterminal and fixed IP address but AREV then rejects the login. Error message as follows:
All Networks Driver 1.5.0.0
Unable to access Linear Hash files.Error=FS1020F:\]le to open boot media map.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Chris
Chris,
I don't have any experience with VPN into W2K Server (I'm assumming that's what you mean by NT2000). However, it may be easier to Terminal service into your server.
Under Windows 2000, terminal server is included. You can set it up under two mode Remote or Application. Under remote, you are limited to two connections (typically used for support). If you don't need more than two you should try the Remote option. Of course your client will need the Terminal Server client either way. They can download from Microsoft. It's on the Server as well.
Good luck,
Ray
Are you creating a login to your server or are you merely running a physical machine already on your server?
In my experience the login that created a remote terminal of your machine was doomed to failure because of the amount of I/O used by Arev over the communications line.
So, all remote was initialized via something like pcAnywhere, or GoToMyPc services (www.gotomypc.com). In other words, the remote merely ran a view/control of a host machine.
