OpenInsight will not start - FS1020 error (OpenInsight 32-bit Specific)

I have a client that is setting up a new machine on which to run OpenInsight. When they attempt to start the program, they see the Run Application box, as expected, but the applications box is empty. Occasionally they will receive the error, unable to access linear hash files FS1020. The workstation is running Windows XP and the server is running Windows 2003. They also have the NT Service 2.1 installed. Before I state what steps I have taken here, let me mention that they can use OpenInsight on a different, yet similarly configured, machine.

I have checked user rights and the user has full access. The service is installed correctly, running on the server, and the REVPARAM is in place with SERVERONLY=TRUE. I have taken the service out of the equation and tried the the program with the same results. I have verified that both computers, working and not, are using the same share.

We placed the LH2.LOG file in the directory and received the following info:

SN REVMEDIA ERROR:1020 FILE:0 GROUP:0

OP ERROR:1100 FILE:0 GROUP:0

Any ideas you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Matt

The error message is very specific 'FS1020 - Unable to open REVLOCKS file at workstation.'

Check the obvious (File exists) but also check that the file is not set for Read only and does have Read/Write privileges.
