I want to try accessing OI from the Browser without straightaway buying the Web deployment Package. Is it possible without WDP?
Yogesh,
The function of OI-CGI is precisely this: an interface that enables interaction between browser and LH-tables.
If you just want to have static HTML pages, you can create them easily from AREV or OI by putting the necessary scripting and HTML tags into your DOS output file, or through OI forms. (but in this case there is no direct interaction with your data tables.)
However, it would be nice to have a low-cost developers version of the OI-CGI, limited only to localhost calls (127.0.0.1).
Wilhelm
Yogesh,
The OICGI.EXE program already comes with your copy of OpenInsight so you can test without acquiring the WDP. The WDP is what you need when you are ready to deploy your application across the web.
