Hi,
We recently moved an AREV app from a NetWare server to a Windows NT server. I installed the NPP, and record locking seems to be working, based on my limited tests.
However, in the NT application event log, I'm getting an error with EventLHOpenFile" call failed, returning LH error number 1009, file number 1, group number 0. File open error.
Any ideas as to what I should check? I have verified that the NT special account "SYSTEM" has full control permissions on the appropriate AREV directories.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Pat

I am experiencing the same type of problem - my client's site has also just upgraded from Netware to NT - could it be a problem with the latest version of NT? No-one else in this discussion group appears to have had this type of problem.
In our case, after several users have logged into NT (and not necessarily into Arev)the following NT message occurs (among others).
They are all Event ID: 30000 source: LinearHash
"The "LHOpenSession" call failed, returning LH error number 1022, file number 0, group number 0. Maximum number of liscensed users exceeded."
I notice, also, that we have also experienced an "LHCreateFiles" error.
The following message has also occurred, which may or may not be related:
Event ID: 201 Source: LiscenseService
No license was available for user (username here) using product SMBServer 4.0.
I know very little about NT & the NT engineer printed off the above NT error log messages for me.
As far as I am aware the LinearHash s/w does not have an associated number of liscensed users. I assume that is controlled within Revelation itself. And these problems occur when logging into NT, not when logging into Arev.
All help appreciated.

We are having similar problems where we converted a network over from Novell 3.12 to 2000 Server. Our error states:
(The "LHReadRecord" call failed, returning LH error number 1009, file number 2, group number 0. File open error.)
This occurs about once a day.
