Maybe this question has come up before, but I haven't seen it. It's not strictly an Arev question, but it is one that could affect most Arev users in Windows 95, so I have to believe one of you has a solution. I just reluctantly upgraded to Windows 95, after everyone else in the company it seems. After only a day of using it, I encountered a problem where if I press ALT-D to delete a record, a DOS application loaded. Upon investigation, I found out that this DOS application had a shortcut key of ALT-D defined. Great, I thought. I'll just remove the shortcut key. Well, that almost worked. Now, instead of getting that application, I get a plain DOS prompt. Nothing in the Windows Help file that I can find refers to this. My questions are:
* Is this standard Windows 95 functionality?
* If so, is it documented somewhere? If so, where?
* If not, why not (actually, I'm not going to ask this question)
* Perhaps there is another shortcut key defined somewhere. Is there some central location that I can go to to look up shortcut keys in Windows 95?
Solution:
I found the solution, and perhaps this is not a standard Windows 95 thing at all, but it is standard at this site, at least if you upgraded from Win3.1. Anyway, all you do is:
* Press ALT-D (loads a DOS screen)
* Right click menu bar
* Select Properties
* Delete Shortcut key
