Client is running Novell 3.12 on the server with dumb workstations
when they try to print the workstation freezes and has to be rebooted.
They have sufficient expanded memory and everything worked fine up until a few weeks ago. Nothing has changed in the network.
There is no error message when this happens, it just freezes.
If anyone has a suggestion I would be grateful.

Janice,
Can any other applications on the workstation print?
If you TYPE a file to the LPT port from DOS, does it print okay?

We have experienced occasional Novell print queue corruption at a few Netware sites. If nothing can print to the offending network printer, use PCONSOLE to delete and recreate the relevant print queue, and reassociating it with the desired printer. If it's only AREV, this solution is probably pointless.
The prior suggestion about testing DOS box printing is a good one. Use the Netware nprint command, as it bypasses all LPT capturing.
