I have a client that upgraded from NT4.0 to Win2000(Workstation). They are running on a Novell 4.11 network with the NLM(latest for this version of Novell). They are using the Novell Client version 4.70.990202 with preferred protocol of IPX. Autoexec.NT loads vipx.exe and vlmsup.exe.
When they try to load AREV they get RTP27 Line 1 file has not been opened, Followed by RTP57 Maximum number of variables exceeded.
Had them open a DOS box and manually load lhipxtsr.exe which seemed to load. Then enter arev user /x /m4096. They get the same result.
If they don't load lhipxtsr.exe, they get a different set of error messages indicating that lhipxtsr.exe has not been loaded.
Things worked fine under NT4.0 and I think they worked using an earlier version of client(4.5?) with Win2000.
They had to upgrade to the 4.7 client to solve some non-AREV problems and are not really interested in unsolving those problems.
Does anyone have any ideas.
TIA
Don
What happens if they use a shortcut with the command line as follows?
d:\arev\arev.exe user/x/m4096
Dale
Same thing. That is where we started.
Don,
Try adding FILES=255 to CONFIG.NT. Also, make sure that when you can in (without REVPARAM set ServerOnly=1, etc.) that the WHO screen indicates 'Expanded Memory' as 'ACTIVE'. If not, then it has to be configured (thus the /m4096 was doing nothing).

I got the same problem of unable to load Arev 3.12 in Win2000 using NLM 5.0 (Novell 5.0). Same error message.
I think Revelation needs to solve this problem.
Anyone out there manage to run Arev under Win2000 using NLM ??
Rudhy
Arev run fine in all windoze versions (w3.11/95/98/Nt/w2k)
On Win2k we are using Novel client version 4.70.991202
lhipxtsr is loaded from the autoexec.NT and arev is just an icon.
It does work and has being working for months. Just play around with it and it will work.
Any question on my setup, I can be reached at [email protected]
