\AREV\DISK1 AND \AREV\DISK2Contain of \AREV\DISK1
LOG$UPGRADEREV52001.LKREV52001.OVREVMEDIA.LKREVLOMSGAREV.EXEUPGRADE.1REVLOCKSContain of \AREV\DISK2
UPGRADE.2I belive after this upgrade, it will solve most of the problems
i am facing this few years.
Can some one show me how to upgrade our arev 3.1 from \arev\disk1 and
\arev\disk2.
Any help are much appreciated.
Thanks.
Unfortunately the UPGRADE program was written so long ago that it only runs from floppies. Copy the contents of each DISKn to the root of a blank formatted floppy so that there are no subdirectories on each floppy.
Then you can just login to upgrade by typing:
AREV UPGRADE
or you can login to SYSPROG and from TCL type:
RUN DOS A:UPGRADE
Be sure to follow the step of updating the VOC file for all accounts/applications.
After updating everything rebuild the indexes you were having problems with earlier and see if that solves your problem.
Ever the pedant …
Log in as AREV INSTALL to upgrade.

I did too, after sleeping on it, but you beat me to the punch on correcting my gaff. There are some advantages to living on opposite sides of the pond.
