Too old date on PC? GFE in SYSLISTS (OpenInsight Specific)

Is there a problem with running OI and OI apps on a PC with a date that is too old? I have a client who tries to run an app on a PC with a date set to sometime in 1998. He feared the PC wasn't Y2K compatible, and hasn't got around to do the necessary ugrading yet. The app is made in 1999. And the user data was last updated this year (2000). There's no date-dependant logic in the app itself.

It seems data entry works OK. There are perhaps problems with a couple of indexes, but we haven't really looked into that yet. What we do know goes wrong, however, is search. When he tries to do a search my client gets FS1003 (i.e, GFE) on SYSLISTS. He's tried to reinstall the app, and copy over his user data folder/location (with MS-DOS), but that didn't help. (He's run the app on a different computer before - that's why he's got some user data already.)

Replies and comments are welcome!

PS. I've asked my client to reinstall and run with a newish date on his PC (something between app's date and 1.1.2000). I've asked him to try first with the app's original empty data location, and then with the newer data location. But in the meantime I'm curious to know what you guys (and gals and groups) have to say.

Dates won't cause GFEs. Old worn-through disks will.
