Help!!
After upgrading from OI 3.12 to 3.61, I cannot run my application as well as the UI, CS or Deploy App functions. For example, if running the UI workspace, I get the following :
RUN REPOSITORY 'EXECUTE', 'SYSPROG*OIWINEXE**UI_MAIN'
RUN START_WINDOW
. RUN START_WINDOW
.
Running as stand alone on Win95 and never had a problem with 3.12 so I'm perplexed. Have seen similar messages from others on this site before so I'm concerned that this may be a issue with Win95 or it's associated components (dlls??) and this version of OI.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris,
If you install a fresh copy (different directory) do you have the same problem? I'm trying to determine if it was an upgrade error or if there is a configuration problem.

Cameron,
Yes, same symptoms regardless of location. I have also tried booting Windows 95 'clean' without loading any extra TSRs or processes and still same outcome.

Chris,
That is odd. In one of those versions, we introduced a new way of determining if the engine is "in event context", and what you are seeing occurs when the engine believes that it is not in event context but it actually is. (That, at least, is how I remember it.)
I will see what I can find out here.

Chris,
could you, please, tell me what is the size and timestamp for the files OINSIGHT.EXE and OENGINE.EXE in the directory where you have installed the OpenInsight 3.6.1.
Also, open the System Monitor (Tools-Advanced-System Monitor) and execute the command:
run read_row 'sysobj', '$iseventcontext'Tell me whether you see the following output
OENGINE.EXEFinally, could you give the same three pieces of information for the upgraded system instead of the new installation.
Thanks,
Gene
From the upgraded 3.12 to 3.6.1 application:
oinsight.exe 267kb 06/01/98 12:00am
oengine.exe 163kb 10/18/98 2:43pm
Yes, system monitor returns OENGINE.EXE
Lastly, this is an upgraded system and not a fresh install of OI 3.6.1. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my previous messages.
Thanks for looking into this…

Chris,
It looks like the OINSIGHT.EXE has not been upgraded correctly.
It should be stamped 5/25/98 12:00AM 267KB (272,528 bytes). Could you, please, try to re-apply the upgrade (make sure no one is logged into the system at that time) and try again?
If the problem persists, could you check whether the full system installation (not an upgrade) behaves the same way?
Thanks,
Gene
