Will AREV run under Windows 7 or are we still stuck with workstations running Windows 2000 or XP
Since it was not support under Vista and would only worked properly in Vista in single user mode (no networking) we were hoping that the issues might have been addressed in Window 7
Revelation addressed the issues by introducing AREV32.

We are already aware of AREV32 but that requires purchasing the OI engine. Most of our clients simply want to upgrade their work stations and have no desire to invest additional cost into a database system that is works perfectly well for them. Do you know anything about the XP Mode in Windows 7. Will it possible work properly with the original AREV and NT Services or Universal Driver.
The easiest way to find out is to try it for yourself. Revelation will not be putting any work into a product that they stopped developing nearly 15 years ago unless someone pays them to do so and possibly not even then. Windows 7 is basically an evolution of Vista so it is unlikely there will be much difference.
In reality it's all software and we're sure there is a way of making it work with the appropriate tweaks but thus far we have seen no commercial incentive to investigate further as our clients have all wanted to move to either OI or AREV32 to take advantage of the removal of the 64K limit along with increased speed and additional "Windows" features.
In fairness it's not Rev who are fault here, it's Microsoft - they are the ones who keep moving the goal posts. Have you looked at their Application Compatibility Toolkit to see if that can provide any clues?

Haven't tried windows 7, but arev works in Vista if you 1) use the All Networks driver without a Windows Service (aka peer to peer) and 2) if you use emsmagic to activate expanded memory. This is not necessarily a good configuration for systems with a lot of users, but smaller systems do OK.
Since Windows 7 is basically Vista, I would expect similar results.
We were able to run Arev in compatibilty mode in Windows 7 connected to a 2008 64 bit Server, using the UD driver
Which compatibility mode, and did you need emsmagic?
