We have a client who's system has been recently upgraded to OI 4.1.2 (with unlimited users) and S/List 3.01.54 (with 5 concurrent users) last week. Since the upgrade they have been having issues with existing users not able to log into the system with their passwords.
We had them reset the passwords for those particular users and it seemed to work. But some of the users today once again could not log in and it did not recognize their old password nor the new one set a few days ago that used to work.
The client mentioned that many of these users who randomly are having issues used to all be setup with the same password - but not the case for all.
Are there any user management - password specific issues or protocols with this version of OI that we should know?
Shimada,
This sounds more like a problem with your network not releasing connections. What is your network environment and driver?
The client uses Windows server 2000 and they're using All Networks Driver version 2.1 for OI
It is only certain users and not all of their users having this issue, that has come up recently.
They are not using the password expiration feature either - I've webexed and watched them reset passwords for the users with the issue. What else could this possibly be? Thanks for replying, by the way, this one has everyone scratching their heads.
Just some background information on things the client has tried to fix: they deleted these users who were having issues and added them back into the system even and still it's a problem; tried changing them to "System Administrator" instead of "User" in DB Manager; checked the security rights at the OS level - and made sure that flag all files under OI as read-write-sharable (not just the REV files)
