When you are running a form how do you reset default sequential key?
Thanks Rick.
Rick,
Try "=nnn" where nnn is the number you want to reset to

Rick,
DSig's response was assuming you are in AREV. For some reason he is answering AREV questions in OI terms and OI questions in AREV terms. Must not be getting enough sleep lately
In OI you have to write your own procedure. We developed a window that loads all tables with a %SK% in the dictionary in a combo box. When a table is selected its sequential key appears in an editline. The end user (usually an administrator type) enters a new number and then clicks on the "Apply" button or the "OK" button. Then we just programmatically reset the %SK% record.

Thanks for the thought BUT before I put this on the board I loaded OI .. note OpenInsight not arev .. then tried the answer .. Since this is a OI question I thought this prudent ..
SO if i load an OPENINSIGHT screen using the default 'seqkey' and put =10 and the screen resets to 10 .. is this correct?
As for sleep .. you are right .. I didn't get much sleep the last week until last night.

DSig,
Unless you know of some trick that has eluded me for years I don't think "=10" will work. I tried it myself and it didn't do anything to the seqkey counter. Are you sure you haven't written a custom process that recognizes this syntax and resets the counter for you? (BTW, if this is the case then it's a pretty clever method.)
Don,
Anything is possible .. i don't believe that this specific window has any changes BUT I will be happy to look tomorrow and see.
