I am currently building an application in MS Access97 that will replace parts of an AREV 2.1 application. I need to export all the user data (exluding lookup tables) and can't figure out from the installed application how to do this.
I'd like to export to Excel preferably, but 123 or text delimited would do also.
Anyone out there that can help?
Thanks!

There is ascii, 123 and dbase exporting.
Look for the export menu(press f2 from any menu) .. then follow the options.
If you have specific problems with the export post your questions

One piece of advice⦠If you are using the multivalues in the AREV tables, make sure that you normalize your tables somehow before exporting to something like .csv files.. I would write a program that normalizes into a temp table and then export from that table into your .csv files..

The difficulty comes in mapping the files and fields in ARev to the tables and columns in Access. Once the mapping is completed there are tools,or make them, to export both data and the dictionaries into Lotus. Using Access and some VB you can read in the ARev dictionaries and use them to set-up the Access tables. Some conversions, i.e., dates, will be required in going from Arev into Access.
Whatever you do, the best way to automate the process to make sure that you create a SCHEMA.INI file so that ACCESS can import without all of the usual prompting. (makes exporting from Access back to AREV a snap also.)
For whomever didn't get my msg, my homepage is now: http:/www.tardis.cc (yes, .cc not .com)
e-mail is: tardis@tardis.cc or larry@tardis.cc
I have a free ASCII Export utility that works for G2B & Arev files. Let me know if you are interested.
