I am converting an AREV application to OpenInsight 4.02 and I'm having trouble getting calculated fields to work. I am fairly proficient in ARev but don't seem to be able to make even the simplest Calculated field work and I can't find a lot of samples in the help screens. When I looked through the Web there didn't seem to be anything that I could get my hands on to help.

May I ask why you are converting to version 4.0.2, instead of 7.0, or even 7.1 which is being released on December 15th? These releases are many times better than 4.0.2.

In addition to Mike's suggestion, you may want to stay clear of the Revelation Reporter as well. While it should run as well (or bad) as it always did in earlier versions of OI, it is no longer "supported".
Your best bet is to become familiar with the OIPI for custom forms and reports and use the Report Builder+ (or S/List for a more robust alternative) for standard list reports.
FWIW, calculated fields, especially in the page footer area, are the exact reason we abandoned the Revelation Reporter. We tried every which way till Sunday and could never get anything to display. We had to move on and the OIPI did everything we wanted it to…albeit it *is* a programmatic solution.
