Hey guys,

I've been having a few problems deleting some bitmap entities that i no longer have use for.

I've used the "related used by" tool to confirm that it is not being used on any windows.

When i try and delete the entity i am presented the error message " Entity is protected, inherited from the another application, or does not exist. Deletion of this entity is not allowed from application MMS".

When i go to the other application which it inherits from, and try and delete it from there, i get the same error message.

Is there a safe way to delete these bitmap entities onces and for good?

And help would be much appreciated.

regards,

Michael

I just found out that i can delete the bitmap entities from SYSPROG.

Is it safe to assume that if there is no "related used by" in SYSPROG that it is not being used anywhere?

For a bitmap, that's a reasonable assumption. However, if you are swapping bitmaps on the fly, then one of the bitmaps may not show up as being related. A bitmap will only be related to a window if it's actually used on the window during compliation time.
