I am working on a project using OpenInsight and SQL Server 6.5.
I have also installed SQL server 7.0 (This is the latest and SUpposedly final BETA version), which allows Sql Server to be used on a 95/98 platform. Thus allowing you to travel with your sql database without having to take the server, or connect remotely.Very Convenient!.
No complaints with it so far, except that it wont let me administer my 6.5 sever.
With the 'Out of the box' setup, I cannot get OI to talk to the this version of SQLserver. (of course, SQL server 6.5 works fine)
Has REVSOFT or anyone else tried SQL server 7.0 yet?
Any and all suggestions welcome.
Thanks Sam
You need the latest service patch for SQL Server 6.5 in order to be able to administrate it from 7.0 Beta.

Thanks Brian, I will go and get it.
You don't happen to know what i need to do to get OI to talk to SQL 7 Data sources?
Thanks again.
Sam

Are you sure you have the 6.0 dlls for SqlSrver in the windows/system directory?
I haven't tested against 7.0 so this is just a guess ..

If that isn't it .. try putting up another message with Camerons name in the subject section .. he will see it and see what is going on
