We are currently running the Revelation NLM 1.12 with Arev (only) clients. The performance is fine, but I am interested in eliminating the IPX protocol from our network entirely. Can the Revelation NT Service use the TCP/IP protocol. Would there be any performance gains or losses going to the NT service? Am I correct in assuming that the NLM can only work with the IPX protocol?

Yes the NT service runs on TCP/IP.

The NLM is faster than the NT service, IPX and Novell are faster than WINNT and TCP/IP.
Yes the NLM uses IPXS sockets to communicate so it requires IPX to be present.

How much slower is the NT Service than the NLM? Why would TCP/IP be slower? Are there any benchmarks available between the NLM and the NT service? Is there an upgrade path or is it not considered an upgrade to go from the NLM to the NT Service?
