We were having problems with gfe's when running arev 2.12 from windows and LANtastic 8.0 so I installed NPP 1.5.
The gfe's went away but so did our speed. It doesn't matter whether the workstation is windows (any version) or dos.
My guess, judging from the places arev responds slowly, is somekind of cacheing issue… it happens the first 2-3 times we open various menus or screens and always at TCL.
Any help? Thanks,
Dallas
Dallas,
This sounds very possible depending on the amount of users you have using ARev and the All Networks Driver. In general, if you have more than five users, it's best to get the NT Service as well to increase performance using the NPP. You can obtain the NT Service by contacting our Customer Care department at 1-800-262-4747.

Stephen ..
Can you use the NT service on Lantastic???

Don/Dallas,
The NT Service can not be used with Lantastic. The NT Service can only be run in conjunction with an NT Server. The NPP is your only option when running on Lantastic, but as mentioned by Stephen, on larger networks, you will experience a slowdown in performance.
If you have any further questions or would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact our Customer Care Department at 800-262-4747 or 978-247-7100.

Thanks for the info. We are running 10 work stations (5 Win98, 5 Win3.11). Since we are using LANtastic it looks like I'm stuck with the lack of speed?
Perhaps the name should be changed to S(small)NPP 1.5
