Hi all,
We have OI 3.5 installed, using the NLM 1.12, and I'm having a few problems sharing data with Arev 3.11. The installation went fine, and adding the Arev Tables seemed to go fine, but we have a problem when it comes to making FORMS. I made just a few forms using quick paint (I dont know if that is what you call it in OI), and one of them bombs on me. The others will load the data from the Arev tables fine, but one keeps throwing me to the debbuger with an RTP27 error. If I go to the table builder, I can pull up the table and read it, but when I modify it, I get the error message: "Unable to copy the Temporary Dictionary, the Dictionary was not Saved." One of the dictionaries I get a "The Dictionary is read-only" error message. Have any of you experienced this? Also, if I make a change in either OI or Arev to the dictionary, does the other system automatically see the change? How do you delete a dictionary item in OI? Sorry for all the questions, I've just been really confused about all this. Thanks....
Mick-
There's probably a DICT.TEMP_filename floating about in the volume. Just find it and delete it.
As for sharing, well, you're sharing. It's the same stuff so they'll just know, you know?

I'm not sure what you mean? Is this something OI created? Where would I go about deleting it, in OI or AREV?

Then something isnt working right, because when I make a change in an AREV dictionary item, OI does not change it. If I create a new dictionary item (data or symbolic), OI does see the new item, but if I change a dictionary item, OI isnt seeing the change????

OI works with a temporary dictionary file instead of making changes directly into the main one. This file is called DICT.TEMP_RealName and exists in the same volume as the file.
Sometimes this tables is not deleted. If OpenInsight trys to work with the dictionary, you could get a "Dictionary Read Only" message. Don't forget that when you load a form into the Form Designer, OpenInsight creates a temporary dictionary.
There is a flag that goes on individual dictionary records that marks them for OpenInsight, Advanced Revelation, or both. Make sure this isn't set.
As for data not appearing, if the files are the same, then it will show up. There's no magic or anything, since an LH file is an LH file and the ARev and OI systems are accessing J:\DATA\REV12345.LK. Check the file handles of the files and make sure they are actually the same file.
