Anytime I make a change to my report in the BRW, the Test Run no longer respects the number of test records I selected. Instead it runs the entire report. Is this a bug?

Hi, Don. After you make a change to your report, and you press the Test Run button, does it still show a prompt with the number of records to run? Is that number still 10? I haven't seen the behavior you're reporting, myself.

Hi Bryan,
Yes, I still get prompted to enter the number of test records. Whether I leave it alone or change the value it still runs the entire report.
Interesting, I've noted a similar behaviour, in that after I do a test run using x records, then modify the report, then do a full preview, it runs with only x records, rather than the full record set I would expect. Not a biggy, but a nuisance.
After reading your post I was hoping maybe the wires had just crossed. Unfortunately (or fortunately) my Preview is still a true Preview. I'm forced to close the BRW and reopen it every time I want to test run my report. There is so much data in this table that it is cumbersome to always have to do a full preview when I make a change.

I can't recreate this problem, so let's see what, exactly, you guys are doing. When you say you "change your report" and then the test run doesn't work, what exactly are you changing? Adding fields? Just moving them around? Resizing them? Renaming them? etc.
Also, if you explicitly go in and change the number of records for the test run each time (to 5 instead of the default 10, for example), do you get any different behavior?
Thanks!

Bryan,
It can just just about any kind of change. Move a field, add a field, change the property of a field, etc. Seems like any minor change will trigger this. When I first posted this I only had one report. I now have a few more so let me see if this problem is isolated to a particular report and/or Report Group. I'll write back later.
Changing the number of records for the test run does nothing different when this problem has already occurred. In other words, it still does a full preview.
Thanks,
