Advanced Revelation under Windows '95 (Operating System Compatibility)

If you are using Advanced Revelation under Windows  95, and you launch your AREV shortcut and you get the error message:   Incorrect DOS version , you need to make sure you have the following line added to your autoexec.bat file:

SET COMSPEC = C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM            

The reason you need to do this is that your set statement is probably pointing to an incorrect version of DOS that Windows  95 cannot understand.  To check this, type SET at a DOS prompt and you will see to what directory your SET COMSPEC statement is pointing.

If you make this change to your autoexec.bat file, and the problem still exists, more than likely this setting is being made at the network level either in a system login script or user login script and should be changed.
