We have a system running under OI 3.6.

We would like to know if there are any problems running it on the following configuration:

  NT4 Primary domain Server
NT4 fileserver and backup domain server
Webserver Acorn SA RPC 200MHz, 1.7Gb HD 43Mb RAM

Workstations:

  NT4 workstations with 32Mb RAM
  Win 95

Network:

Star network with a fibre backbone

In particular, is there any problems with running on 32bit PCs?

We have to travel a long way to do this installation and hence would not like to be meet with any surprises.

Thanks in advance.

Henry,

Which computer do you plan to use as the server for your OpenInsight v. 3.6 application? The NT4 Primary domain server, the NT4 fileserver, or the Webserver?

Regarding the rest of your concerns, running it off of WinNT (32MB RAM) workstations and/or Win95 workstations would be fine. As far as running on 32bit PC's, I'm assuming you mean 386's and up, (i.e. standard PC's of the last ten years or so) and that would be fine.

We and our customers have had no problems running on an ethernet, banyan vines, and/or token-ring network. I am not familiar with star networks but if it based on one of the aforementioned networks then it should work fine.

Sincerely,
