Test & Live system, 2 shares 1 server - Asking for Trouble? (AREV Specific)

I am considering creating a test system on the same server as our
live system with a new share. When logged into the test system the it would not be possible to have the live attached because I will have the mappings use the same drive letter - That is you we can only have 1 of the shares attached at the same time. Should this cause problems?
We are using the Windows 2000 service, the live system is ARev 2.12 and the Test system will be Arev 3.12

This is primarily a licensing issue rather than a technical issue. If the two AREVs have different serial numbers then there shouldn't be a problem.

I hope if you run the same file AREV.EXE in both cases, you don't violate the license. If your application programs and data are on another volume(s), there is no problem with switching these volumes to obtain testing environment. (Here volumes mean operating system volumes or discs, not AREV ones). Switching AREV volumes instead is possibility, too … works well if your application does not use ATTACHTABLE/DETACHTABLE statements.
(I hope these statements are used in applications rarely … I use them just for synchronisation purposes TEST x Runtime)

Well the license is unambiguous
This software license specifically prohibits copying the software for any reason other than back up and/or archiving the software for the sole purpose of protecting your software investment.
The fact that the OP refers to two different versions suggests different serial numbers.
