Hi,

I have a button that had some basic+ programming attached to the "click" event. Subsequently, I cleared the programming and added a quick event. It was working fine for a few days, including today. I went back to the program after lunch today, and the button reverted back to the basic+ programming, even though it was cleared. I went so far as to completely clear the event, and it still processes the basic+ programming. Nothing should be happening.

I have gone to "entity-properties" and checked recompile. No luck.

What else to do?

TIA,

Marty

Marty,

Your problems sound familiar. I had similar problems many years ago. Let me do a search for 'Oystein and "user event"' - sorted 'Oldest first'. … Found it. Here is Gene Gleyzer's reply. I see the thread doesn't contain the whole story, but hopefully Gene's diagnosis applies to your case.

Oystein,

I followed the thread that you sent. When I ran the program that was suggested, I received the same response that you did. Nothing.

I then went back to the offending control and changed its name. Ta-Da! That did the trick. Worked as I intended. So, any orphans that might exist on this application will remain unadopted.

Thanks again,

Marty

Marty,

That discussion with Gene was a long time ago. It might have been before the SCAN_REP tool was made. I must have got the problem solved eventually. I think Gene and I continued communicating, but via e-mail.

It's good you got the problem solved. And it's good we don't have to worry about orphans when they're of the electronic kind.
