AREV3.1, Gateway E-3200, Windows 95 (AREV Specific)

We are running an AREV 3.1 application on a Novell 4.1 server, using the TSR and NLM. We are unable to use this application successfully on a Gateway E-3200 as an end user computer. It is difficult to configure expanded memory for this model. We have been given some variations of the EMM386 command by Gateway. However, when we tried them, we either could not load AREV or got the "out of string space" message on a moderately sized query. Has anyone used AREV on this model? Does anyone have any ideas about parameters for the EMM statement or the AREV command line? Thank you very much.
