Is is possible to have a statement from Revelation re OI7, specifically:
a) When OI7 is released, confirm what workstation OS versions it will run on, ie NOT Win 98 and previous versions.
b) When OI7 is released, how long will OI 32 (4.x.x) be supported.
Ie, how long have our users got to get new hardware and OS versions to run the apps with OI7.
c) Any other relevant information on this, eg Networks, Min hardware spec etc.
Thanks

I'd guess it will be safe with all true Microsoft Win32 OS's (eg. NT, 2000, XP, 2003). Microsoft no longer supports 98, so I doubt Revelation Software will. You'd have to await the word on Novell, but I'm sitting here looking out the Windows at a big red dumpster with white writing.

I'd expect that new functionality won't affect legacy apps, and that a fair degree of backwards compatibility will exist. You'd expect a few minor tweaks in your application upgrading, and some impressive changes to the development environment. If they can take it from OI16 to OI32 with so few changes, then you'll probably be pleasantly surprised by OI 7. I'd estimate that OI 7 will be at least 2.8 better than OI 4.1x. And rumour has it that it now has Dobly.

It's hard to anticipate memory problems, as Windows supplies virtual memory as required to OI32. It's hard to anticipate disk problems, as OI isn't large by today's standards. Your data will presumably remain the same size, and comparatively larger than the development environment and executables.
