We have several AREV 3.12 apps running on a Windows NT platform. Several client workstations keep locking up while trying to run reports that are processing select statements. We have observed the CPU usage which runs around 19% - 35% suddenly drop to zero. If we reboot the server or take down the linear hash it sometimes cleans this up, but not always. Any suggestions?

What is considered high in terms of open pipes or sessions? We are currently showing 91 sessions with 35 open files and 46 open named pipes.

Linda,

I've seen this happen when there is a 3D screen saver on the server. Baffled me for ages!

are these new machines you just setup running arev, did you create/change new icons recently? cause on all Windows environoments, if the "always suspend" option is selected on the MISC tab on the arev icon properties, after a few minutes this will cause arev to freeze…

Hi Paul,

No, the machines and pifs have been in use for sometime. And, we know about the "always suspend" on the MISC tab. Everything has worked perfectly in the past, this problem started just recently.
