I have a client who wants to install the NetWare Support Pack 6 to correct a problem with the server clock. I know previous SP's have had problems and also that the NW5-SP4 and NW5.1 issues have been corrected. Does anyone know if SP6 has any problems with AREV or the NLM's?
Thanks!

W,
SP6 for Netware 5 has been tested and runs perfectly with Arev and the NLM's (provided you have the right client configuration-but that is with any version of Netware).
As a matter of fact, we tested the new OpenInsight 3.7.4 upgrade on a Netware 5.0 SP6 server.
Hope this eases your fears,
Kevin

Kevin,
FYI, I just went through a situation where I had to upgrade a Novell 5 server to SP6a. They had SP4 and tried to use the NLM.
After SP6a we encountered the following issues:
1. Clients using Client32 ver 3.01 could no longer connect to the server.
Solution: Upgrade to the latest client.2. Some clients could connect but received FS472 errors trying to run AREV.
Solution: Set the Frame Type settings in the Advanced tab of the IPX 32 bit protocol to the same frame type as the server. When all is said and done the client is up and running on the NLM. However, it was an "all day" project and I had to visit every PC in the company!! I know it is not the fault of the NLM but with Novell. I just think you should provide a stronger warning to your customers if they decide to undertake this. (I am talking from experience).
Bye, John
