I have a customer currently running Arev2.12 under terminal server on an NT server. They are using NPP and have a 16 user license.
Over a number of years, the customer has put up with occassional index corruption, group locks, and GFE's. Of course when they get these problems they whinge, but it is difficult to convince them they need to spend more money to get the Universal Driver.
Can anyone offer any advice ?
The customer effectively wants a guarantee that the universal driver will have a positive impact on performance and a reduction in their indexing and corruption problems.
It is unfortunate that a demonstration version isnt available which could be installed in parallel for them to work with.

Tell them drinking water helps them to look good on the inside, even though they've never seen their urinary tract.
Tell them that you don't want to sell them a universal driver because they will never call you for indexing / GFE support calls ever again, and your income will drop by more than the value of the driver.
Then take their money.

Ok .. I'll give it a try :)
On another note, there are a few places where I call the INDEX.FLUSH routine to ensure that indexes are fully up to date. Does this function behave any differently under the Universal Driver ?
thanks.
