I printed the November 1997 whitepaper and set about trying out the instructions in the EXAMPLE application in OI 3.4. Since I'm learning OI, I don't know some of the things that appear to be assumed in this White paper. For example:

Where should I put the script that appears in Step 4? I tried it as the script for the window's PAGE EVENT. Then I tried it as the script for the Next Button's CLICK event. In either case, the debugger telles me that the "currPage" variable in line 18 has not been assigned a value.

Also. The tabs themselves are showing no text, even though I have used the AUTOTAB bitmap with the "combine text with bitmap" property checked. Each tab appears to get focus when I click on it, but Page 1 is always the one I see, no matter which tab I click.

Is anyone successfully implementing tabbed forms?

Yes, but not the way described in the white paper. Nevertheless, it isn't a trivial task and would be too difficult to demonstrate the process via a response.

If you have OI3.4, then open up the EXAMPLES application that comes with it and you can actually see the tabbed dialog and all of the source as well. This should help you figure out where you are missing pieces.

Michael,

If you are a Works subscriber you can also see an example of this in the customer application. The name of the window is 'TABBED_EXAMPLE'.

Good luck…
